I hope you had a safe and restful 4-day break. I want to extend a warm welcome back to everyone after the recent inclement weather day. Your ability to adjust and support our efforts to ensure our students and community's safety and well-being is greatly appreciated. 

As we settle back into our routine, I want to remind you about the upcoming Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to connect with your child's teachers, discuss their progress and the goals they are aiming to achieve, and address any concerns you may have. Your active participation is crucial in ensuring the success of our students, and we appreciate your commitment to their education.

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences Schedule:

The week of January 22 - 26. Please sign up with your child's teacher. 

Additionally, we have exciting upcoming events planned for our school community. Our Family Fun Nights are a great way to have fun together and contribute to supporting student learning and achievement. These events create a positive and engaging environment for families to come together and learn, all while having fun and enjoying the experience.

Updated Family Literacy Fun Night:

Thursday, February 1, 2024, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm 

We encourage all families to participate and make the most of these opportunities to engage with the school community. Your involvement plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and enriching educational experience for our students.

Application Instructions for 2024 - 2025

Application Window opens from November 1, 2023 - January 31, 2024

1. Scan the QR Code or click on the link. It will prompt you to the SchoolMint Signing page. If you already have an account, log in. On the contrary, create a new account.
2. Once you log in to the Choose Dallas ISD dashboard (Ex. Welcome, Tina Rill!) check if the school year is the correct one (2024-2025), then scroll down into the middle section. Click in the second blue square, “Let’s Begin Application!” and start filling out all the required fields with the red asterisk. For documentation, please upload your current proof of address (lease, mortgage, or utility bill) and pay stub. Note: old, dated documents in the application will not be acceptable, and the application will be placed on HOLD until the parent uploads the current dated document.

Kids need to stay hydrated, too!

• Encourage your child to drink water by sending a water bottle with them to school
• Infuse fresh fruit if they do not like the taste of plain water
• Make it a game! Challenge your child to drink a certain amount of water daily. This could increase your water intake, too!
• School aged children should drink 6-8 cups of water daily

I have noticed many chapped lips here on campus. Please encourage water intake and provide chapstick as needed (if possible).

Uniform Expectation

 The uniform policy is enforced at DMA, and your support is necessary to ensure that your child wears the appropriate uniform and footwear. This ensures their safety, as improper shoes can lead to injuries. Your cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated.  Please see our SCOC for more information here.

Crocs are not allowed as part of Dallas ISD uniform policy.

Clothes with holes are not allowed as part of Dallas ISD uniform policy.
