Lakewood Ranch

National EA Winter Event

LWR EA teams participated on December 6 in the National Elite Academy Winter Event at Premier Sports Campus. Compared to last year's event, our teams improved significantly in their level of competitiveness.

Samuel Arbelaez (2012 EA) and Jayden Campos (2013 EA) were selected out of 6,200 players at the EA Winter Event for National EA team consideration, to represent US & EA at the MIC Tournament in Spain.

Tampa

Puma King Cup

The U9-U12 teams had an exciting event at the Puma King Cup. The U11 and U12 boys took on other Pre-MLS / Pre-ECNL teams and came away with dominant wins, with the U11s winning 7–0 and the U12s winning 6–3. A total of 9 players were shortlisted by scouts for various events, and 1 player earned an invite.

Adrian Ducos was one of the players who competed in the Puma King Cup in Jacksonville and earned an invitation to the Orlando City SC Futures Program.

Girls Night at Tampa Bay Sun FC

Our U13 Tampa Girls had an unforgettable team bonding night at the Tampa Bay Sun FC game!

The girls had the incredible opportunity as ball girls for the match, experiencing the excitement of game night up close and on the field. It was a night full of smiles, teamwork, and memories!

Clearwater Rec Program

Clearwater had an amazing Fall/Winter Rec Season. Thank you to all the players who participated in our program, where they build fundamental skills and develop a love for the game. Pictured is Coach Pete leading U6 players in the last night of Fall/ Winter Rec Program.

Chargers UPSL Training with Philadelphia Union II

The Chargers UPSL team had an incredible opportunity as they participated in a combined training session and friendly match with Philadelphia Union II, who were in town for preseason.

Our U7-U10 players in Clearwater had an unforgettable experience at our Philadelphia Union Players Clinic, where Union professionals led the players through high-energy skill drills, shared insight from their own journeys, and wrapped up the evening with a fun autograph session.

Age Group Changes

Age Group Changes for the 2026/27 Season

Beginning with the 2026–27 season, Chargers Soccer Club will transition to a school year (seasonal) age grouping model, in alignment with US Soccer.

Nathan Harriel -

Chargers Soccer Club alumnus Nathan Harriel was back where it all began during our U7-U10 player clinic with the Philadelphia Union. Nathan is now a professional player with the Philadelphia Union. Nathan is pictured with Chargers Youth Coaches Marco Pollastri and Sal Rapuano, who had the privilege of coaching him during his early years in our recreational program and his younger competitive seasons. Watching his journey come full circle is incredibly meaningful, and Chargers Soccer Club is proud to have played a role in his development from the very beginning.
