Prayer and Praise
November 6, 2019

Presently Global Missions is ministering in 46 countries.
Through the outreaches of Open Bible churches overseas, 1,737,460 people received Christ between 2017-2018.
Missionaries Mike and Nancy Juntunen enjoyed having some special guests at church last week. Mike shares: “We were blessed to have Katsu and Kayoko Kawai, missionaries from Japan to Cluj, Romania. Also with them was Minori Nakayama who is visiting Romania. Minori and Kayoko are from the Open Bible church in Kobe, Japan.”

Missionaries Drew and Jessica Welch request prayer. Drew shares: “Please intercede and prayerfully consider fasting for our churches and leaders in Liberia. Many of our leaders, who were trained by former missionaries, have gone home to be with the Lord and only a small group remains. Unfortunately, many of the next generation are of a different spirit. We are dealing with a pastor under discipline for inviting witchcraft into the church with the approval of the local church board and multiple pastors are under discipline for sexual immorality. The majority of our pastors have very little theological training and lack the fruit of a disciple, let alone the qualities needed to be a leader. There are currently five churches trying to survive without a pastor. Please stand with us in intercession as we declare God’s truth in Liberia! Pray that the Lord will help us to raise up a faithful generation.”

Missionaries Bill and Fayth McConnell request prayer. Fayth shares: “Please continue to pray for the upcoming four-hour women’s seminar I am co-leading on November 13 th . Thank you to Mary Fuentes, Toni Phillips, Lilia Barrales, and Denia Vega for helping to make this seminar a success. Mary, who just graduated from a nine-month ministry school, and her husband, Jaimie, help with our ministry in Mexico. Toni Phillips and her husband, Dave, are fellow missionaries in Mexico. Lilia Barrales and Denia Vega are leaders at the Kid’s Kingdom Orphanage in Nogales, Mexico. Please pray for us as we challenge the women to be the people God created them to be. Pray also for the women who will attend this seminar, that God will prepare their hearts for what He has for them.”

Missionaries Tom and Sherry Moore share: “Greetings from Arizona. Tom is doing well with his 12-week cardiac rehab program. Today he will have labs done for the diabetic doctor and kidney doctor. We have changed our diets (eating less red meat and more fruits and vegetables). This has lowered my bad cholesterol and I am no longer on any prescription medications! Praise Jesus! Please pray for Tom’s appointments today and his follow-up appointments on November 11. We appreciate each one of you who have continued to hold us up in prayer during this time of recovery and rehabilitation. God is good!”

Missionaries Mike and Dara Rasavanh recently had the honor to be in the home of one of their favorite missionary couples. Dara shares: “The Eubanks came to the Thaidam people of Thailand more than 60 years ago. It is both inspiring and encouraging to sit and listen to a life of dedication to following God’s call. Mr. Eubanks said, ‘When following the call, plan to stay in for the long haul.’ When I grow up I want to be like them.”

Skylar shares: “I arrived home safely last week from a one-month mission trip to Trinidad. It was a life-changing trip that allowed me the opportunity to grow deeply in the gifts and abilities that God has given me. This trip was full of blessings that I will never forget.”

Information about Mission Haiti has been sent to all Open Bible
churches and ministers. Please email [email protected] for
more information.
Last year many of you prayed for and donated to the Cambodia Global Harvest Offering. Even though this building isn’t completely finished yet, it is already impacting lives. Global Missions’ newest work is in the country of Haiti. We want to build a new orphanage for 50 children, an elementary school for 300 children in first through seventh grades, and a medical clinic that will serve hundreds of children and youth who have no way to receive any type of medical care or treatment for common illnesses and injuries requiring medication.

Please join the Mission Haiti team through a donation to help rescue lives of hundreds of children from malnutrition, lack of health care, and poverty. The children’s families and the community will also be impacted spiritually as the Gospel is spread because a church is also being built by Jamaica Open Bible Churches on this same property. Online donations may be made by clicking here . You may also send a check payable to Open Bible Churches to the national office (2020 Bell Ave, Des Moines, IA 50315), writing Mission Haiti in the memo line. Global Missions along with our global Open Bible families are grateful for your unwavering support and partnership. The impact through Mission Haiti will help the next generation to rise above tragedy and despair so they can bring hope and salvation to the entire country.
