Perfect Lunch Box Banner

Drumroll please.....

Introducing our "PERFECT LUNCH BOX"!

This is the first plastic-free lunchbox on the market that is deep enough for a nice hearty sandwich, and airtight to ensure any saucy sandwich, fruit, or salad liquids won't spoil homework or gym clothes in the backpack!

It's one of a kind, and a product we've been meaning to introduce for many years.  Thank you to all of our faithful customers who purchased the tester we offered back in February and took the time to try it out and send us your helpful comments.

It turns out that we had it pretty much right on... It really hasn't changed much since February.  We got some amazing feedback from our customers!!

The issue that generated the most comments from customers who answered our survey was the side clips, which were -- and still are -- attached to the lid instead of the base of the container.   Here are a few comments:
  • "They work fine, but they are upside-down compared to most side clips you'd find on anything else. I'm used to pulling up to open, and pushing down to close."
  • "I really like the clips. It took me a minute to figure out how to use them, but after the small learning curve it was very easy. I think having them fit so close to the container makes it easy to fit it in a lunchbox."

  • "I don't think they can be improved; they are unique and so are a little bit unfamiliar. But, they work VERY well. They get easier the more I use them. They simply go a different direction, latching down rather than upward."

We discussed the clips in depth with our Indian manufacturer and he explained that the reason for the design of the clips this way - attached to the lid rather than the base - is to enable sufficient pressure on the lid to create a strong seal with just two clips. If the clips were attached to the base, there would have to be four clips, one on each side of the base to create enough pressure for the seal to be airtight.  So we have decided to leave them as is.

Here are the key features of this versatile sandwich box, which comes plastic free in a kraft cardboard box (note: replacement silicone seals are available here):

Freezycup Recipe Contest

In our last newsletter launching the new Freezycup design, we announced a Freezycup Ice Pop Recipe Contest , with the randomly chosen winner receiving a set of four of our newly
design ed  Freezycup stainless steel ice pop molds  and the holder of
their choice ( wooden  or  stainless steel ) shipped anywhere in North
America.

T hat winner is Christian Soldat -- Congratulations Christian, and thanks for the recipe!  The recipes submitted will be included on our website eventually, in our soon to be created recipe section.

Here is Christian's Watermelon Ice Pop Recipe, as narrated by him - we haven't tried it yet, but it sounds amazing...
  • 4.5 cups watermelon: try to buy organic watermelon, but it's harder to find in organic form and it is one of the lower pesticide fruits
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup fresh squeezed organic orange juice. You can save the pulp if you don't want to use it in the popsicle....in puree form use it in place of some of the milk in cornbread (trust me, it's amazing).

Blend everything in a blender. Pour into molds. Freeze. Eat and fall in love with frozen watermelon.
