Welcome to the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons' first digital communication, concerning the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic is placing on our colleagues in UK, Ireland and worldwide. We hope in future days to bring you news of relevant strategies, and coping mechanisms, that are coming into play across Europe, USA and across the world.
We want to share with our members, evidence-based updates on COVID–19 and its implication for our profession. Please see the first article link (below) to a recent peer-reviewed publication on the persistence of Cornoviruses on inanimate surface and modes of inactivating them with biocidal agents.
