letter from the President

you are welcome here

Although my daughter Olivia is grown up and busier than ever, our family continues to find joy in small, shared moments. Backyard campfires and conversations on the deck have replaced camper getaways, but we’ve realized summer fun doesn’t have to look the same at every stage of life. What matters most is the people we make our memories with.

When I think of the joy found through meaningful connection, my friend Scott immediately comes to mind. Over a decade ago, his invitation to a few friends to play a recreational soccer game grew into a regular gathering of international players who share food and foster community across language, creed, and nationality. If you want to play, there’s always a place for you on a team. Everyone is welcomed and valued for exactly who they are.

member highlight: more than just a place to store their money

When it came time for Meg and Lexi to join their finances, they knew they needed more than just a place to store their money. They were looking for a financial institution that aligned with the life they were building together.

Their search took a meaningful turn at last year’s Pride Parade, where something unexpected caught their eye: the Canopy Credit Union car. They hadn’t seen any other credit unions with a public presence at Pride. That simple moment sparked a journey that would lead them to something much deeper.

Curious, they visited a Canopy branch—and instantly felt at home. What could have been an overwhelming experience—navigating finances and exploring loan options—quickly became an empowering opportunity to connect, learn, and grow.
