APRIL 2020
A Message from the Executive Director
Dear Adam\'s Camp Supporter,

We hope that this newsletter finds you well and that you, your family, and friends have remained and will continue to remain healthy during this Covid-19 pandemic.
We take our campers health and well-being seriously, so it is with that in mind, in accordance with the CDC and WHO advisories against large gatherings, that we made the tough decision to cancel spring Early Start Camp, March, April, and May Adventure Camp Weekends, and one of our biggest fundraisers – the annual spring event.  Many of you are asking what will happen to summer camp? The answer is we don’t yet know. We are tracking the developments day-by-day and are in constant contact with the Colorado Department of Health.

As you can imagine, these cancellations will put a financial hardship on the organization.
In addition, as the future of the economy is yet unknown, we anticipate an increase in the number of camper families needing financial support in order to attend Camp programs. The scholarship fund provides a vital source of revenue, offsetting costs for the many exceptional program offerings that make Adam’s Camp such a unique experience. Currently, the scholarship fund provides assistance to over 80 campers and their families who would not otherwise be able to attend Camp.

You can help us face whatever lies ahead. A gift to Adam’s Camp will go a long way in helping our camper families get through this trying time.

Please consider a monetary gift to Adam’s Camp. Your gift will help write the next chapter in the story of how our camper families continue to overcome hardship to find a better future. Whatever you choose, please know that we are extremely grateful for you and the relationship we share. Your thoughts and gifts make a big difference.

Helping camper families in need,
Lindsay Radford

THERAPY THOUGHTS
from Holli Rosen, Therapy Camp Assistant
Every day we are hearing about COVID-19. We are hearing stories about grocery stores being empty, cities on lock downs, more and more people in hospitals, and watching the toll it is taking on our country. Even social media platforms are being flooded with various stories about how we are dealing with our current situation. We know that our kids are now being “home schooled” but what does that mean for those who are in special needs programs? Are parents having to carry that additional burden?

Many therapists are providing teletherapy sessions or using the various platforms to continue to help kids and clients. We’ve reached out to a few of our therapists to find out how they are continuing to offer services and help clients during these uncertain and trying times. I’m happy to say that these amazing people are still assisting and working with kids in very unique ways!

We can all play a vital role to help our kids who are feeling the stress of being home with a disruption in their routines. As parents, we can do our part to continue to love and work with them. Crafts to enhance cognitive learning, reading, and even cooking together to help further prepare them for life after COVID-19 are just a few ways we can all enjoy this gift of being at home with our families.

CAMP WISH LIST
As you might imagine, Adam's Camp uses a lot of supplies that help to make the programming we offer the best possible experience for our campers. Purchasing supplies is a significant part of our budget.

Amazon donations have been life changing for us. Getting enough Amazon donations to fill the need frees up funds to be used for additional programming.

Nothing on our Amazon Wish List is over $100 and many items are under $20. Would you consider making a donation from our Amazon Wish List? A ny help that you are able to provide by purchasing and donating supplies would be greatly appreciated.

And, when you shop at Smile.Amazon.com and choose Adam's Camp as your charity of choice, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases back to us !

On behalf of our campers, thank you!
