2024 INSTRUMENT DRIVE: MARCH 4-16th

Dear Friends,

It's that magical, musical time of year - Bringing Music to Life's 14th annual instrument drive is just one week away!

Applications from Colorado's Title 1 schools and other deserving, underfunded music programs requesting instruments are already pouring in, confirming both the great need and growing interest among our children.

Learning to play music is not only an outlet for their creative expression, it can also enhance self-esteem and confidence, strengthening life skills as well as academic achievement.

If you have been holding on to an instrument that is no longer played because you want it to go where it is needed and will be appreciated, look no further!

GET ALL THE DETAILS

Here's everything you need to know to donate and be an instrument of change in the life of a Colorado child:

What instruments can I donate?

We welcome gently used band and orchestra instruments, including strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, guitars and electronic keyboards. We especially need tubas, baritones, French horns, tenor and baritone saxophones, as well as violas, cellos and string basses.

Sorry, we cannot take upright or grand pianos and organs.

Where can I donate my instruments?

Visit any of the following convenient drop off sites. We are grateful for their years of dedicated support!

How can I help if I don't have an instrument to donate?

A donation to the repair fund can be as important to a child's successful learning experience as the instrument itself.

All instruments need to be cleaned and nearly all need some work so that they will be in excellent, playable condition before schools receive them.

Despite the generous discounts offered by our repair partners, instrument repairs are our single biggest expense.

Your donation to our repair fund helps us to make the most of gently used instruments and to award as many as possible.

You can donate online:

REPAIR FUND

WILL TRADE BRAINS, HEART AND COURAGE FOR INSTRUMENTS

Fans of John Williams, Mozart and Beethoven have already had opportunities to drop off instruments and pick up brochures at BMTL's donation and information table in the lobby of Boettcher Concert Hall before performances this season. But - take heart! - you'll have two more chances when the Colorado Symphony will perform the score and screen the classic The Wizard of Oz on March 2nd and 3rd.

Click your heels three times and we'll see you there!

(Once again we wish to thank the Colorado Symphony Orchestra for allowing us to connect with our mutual supporters in this way. Together we're nurturing future music lovers and performers. Plus, it's so much fun!)

WELCOME BACK, MARCK TIME MUSIC!

Karin Marck, Owner

Bringing Music to Life is pleased to welcome one of our original donation locations back to the fold.

Marck Time Music at 2318 Jones Avenue is the "ultimate destination for rentals and repairs in Pueblo". Locally owned and operated for over 20 years, the shop holds a special place in the heart of Pueblo's music education community.

Owner Karin Marck remembers when the shop first served as an instrument donation location back in 2013 and looks forward to meeting new donors in March.

Drop in to drop off your instrument, say hello and thank Karin for her support!

KING SOOPER REWARDS

Bringing Music to Life conservatively estimates that 20,000 children from over 300 music programs have benefitted from the more than 8,000 instruments donated over the last thirteen years - and our work continues!

We could not accomplish any of this without your generous donations of both instruments and repair funds. We sincerely thank you!

See you during Instrument Drive 2024,
