Our very own Dr. Salvador Fernandez and board member, commissioner of Education for Rhode Island, Angelica Infante-Green will be at the Dominicans on the Hill event!
Held annually during Dominican Heritage Month, Dominicans on the Hill was created by Rep. Espaillat (NY-13) to recognize the growing civic engagement of the Dominican-American community and throughout the diaspora.
Since its inception, Dominicans on the Hill has become a signature event held at the United States Capitol that is attended by hundreds of community leaders, professionals, students, and elected officials of Dominican descent and groups from around the nation.
Dr. Salvador Fernandez, founder and president of STEM Happens Network, will be presenting at the US Capitol at the 5th annual Dominicans on the Hill event. He will be participating on a panel with co-panelists Amy Lloyd, Assistant Secretary for the Office of Career, Technical & Adult Education, and Melody Gonzales, Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics, on Education and Higher Education: Changing the face of education through entrepreneurship and Career and technical education - moderated by Angelica Infante-Green, The Commissioner of Education for Rhode Island (board member of STEM Leadership Alliance.)
We want to acknowledge and thank Adriano Espaillat, U.S. House of Representatives for hosting this event. Today we recognize all the hard work and dedication of Dominican American leaders that have been at the forefront of shaping the discussion around education, health, business, sports, and government. The Dominican community is a trailblazer that has contributed to the voice of the Latino community, which is shaping the discussions across America.
