Helping hands are making an Impact
United Way of Greater Union County is grateful for the outpouring of support from volunteers, donors, public officials, corporate and foundation partners who joined the fight to help those vulnerable during this unprecedented time.

We are pleased to provide a brief update on our recent efforts.
Amazon Logistics'donation of fresh produce and food serves eight Union County communities

Last week, Amazon Logistics donated 26 pallets of fresh produce and nonperishable food to United Way of Greater Union County. Because of their generous contribution, we conducted two food distribution drives, mobilizing community partners and city officials across Union County to pick up the food donations and distribute them within their communities. As part of an on-going effort to help provide food to individuals in our region, the company has pledged its on-going support.
Thanks to Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe Jr., of Rahway, on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, the distribution site took place in the parking lot at Hamilton Stage in Rahway. On Friday, April 10th, distribution took place in Roselle thanks to Mayor Christine Dansereau and the township's police department .

UWGUC coordinated with city officials and nonprofit organizations in Hillside, Union Township, Rahway, Elizabeth, Summit, Plainfield, Linden, and Roselle to help distribute food throughout Union County.

United Way of Greater Union County thanks everyone who donated to UWGUC COVID19 Emergency Fund so far. To date, we've raised over $166,000 to benefit individuals financially impacted by the crisis.
About the UWGUC COVID19 Emergency Fund
Each week, the need for financial support in response to individuals losing their jobs and unexpected financial crisis is growing. In March, United Way of Greater Union County established the UWGUC COVID19 Emergency Fund to assist individuals financially impacted by COVID19 due to loss of wages or who incurred debt as a result of the pandemic. The fund seeks to assist individuals in Union County, South Plainfield, and North Plainfield disproportionately affected by COVID19, primarily in underserved and economically disadvantaged communities. For more information and to donate to the UWGUC COVID19 Emergency Fund, please visit uwguc.org/covid19 .
