Shining a Light on Literacy
What We've Been Working On
Our Work with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP)
NAESP Hosted Webinars
In partnership with the National Association for Elementary School Principals (NAESP), L4L is hosting a “Leading for Literacy” webinar series focused on supporting elementary school and district leaders in the improvement of literacy outcomes for all students. These interactive webinars emphasize the tools and resources that school leaders can use to promote school-wide reading instruction within a multi-tiered system of support. Webinars will emphasize:
  • The role of school leadership in the implementation of a school-wide reading model
  • Critical features of assessment, instruction, and intervention in early reading
  • Key considerations for professional development, administration, and communication to support educators’ implementation of effective reading instruction within tiered systems of support.

Leading Lessons Online Magazine
Lead for Literacy experts provided the content for the November 2020 issue of the NAESP Literacy Leaders Online Magazine that focuses on school leaders' role in effective reading instruction.
Pivot to Virtual Trainings
With schools and businesses shifting to remote work, it became necessary for us to shift our focus from in-person institutes to virtual trainings.

In August, L4L literacy coaches Abby Foley & Ursula Hill delivered the 1st virtual institute to Delaware school leaders. They covered the L4L framework and highlighted features of effective, research-based instruction so that leaders can recognize & support effective literacy instruction.

We have gone on to provide virtual institutes for Ohio leaders and have plans to work with Rhode Island as well!
