Internship photo example
Show off your summer internship!

E. J. Ourso College of Business students will soon set off to internship sites around the country. We want to see what you are up to this summer! Post a photo from your internship site to Twitter or Instagram for a chance to win a $50 JCPenney gift card.

  1. Get a photo of yourself at your internship site. This can be a photo that someone else takes or a selfie.
  2. Post to Twitter or Instagram using #LSUOursoIntern. Be sure to mention/tag @LSUOursoCollege.
  3. Include your name, major, expected graduation year, and the name of your internship site in your message.

Those who post a photo by Friday, August 3 will be entered into a random drawing. Please only post once during the promotional period. If you are unable to post your photo to social media, please email it to amcbride@lsu.edu.

Note, photos may be used to promote the college and its internship program.

Join Steven Dourmashkin, founder and CEO of Specdrums, for a Q&A-style panel on the  Red Bull Launch Institute. Specdrums is the winner of last year's Red Bull Launch Institute competition. 

This year’s competition includes three categories: culture (music, arts, design, dance, etc.); sports (athletic apparel, sports performance, sports tech, etc.); and enterprise (general software, tech, services, social innovations, etc.). One winner from each category will be invited to a development summit and TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco.

Duke TIP is Hiring LSU Students

Duke TIP is seeking content specialists to serve as instructors and instructional assistants for its Summer Studies Program in June and/or July. The instructor position requires at least a year of graduate coursework, professional experience, and/or teaching experience with specific emphasis in the subject area. The instructional assistant position requires completion of at least two years of college. Duke TIP provides pedagogical training and support throughout your employment, teaching experience is not required. 
 
Teaching positions include compensation in the form of salary and room-and-board. This is a professional opportunity to develop your teaching repertoire while working with dedicated students and talented professionals.

Denim Day is a call to action for all people to come together by wearing denim as a visible sign of protest against sexual violence. By participating in Denim Day on Wednesday, April 25, you can play a role in the prevention of sexual violence and show support for survivors.

Pro Tips for Your Handshake Profile
If you set your Handshake profile to public, employers in the system can find your profile in a search and reach out to you directly. Use these tips to make sure employers will be wowed by your profile.

  1. Upload a professional head shot.
  2. Utilize the “upload your résumé” feature. This time-saving feature uses your résumé information to autofill the profile section.
  3. Complete the skills, class projects, and extracurricular sections. These are all very important to employers!
  4. Reach out to Erin Warns or Stephanie Gandy if you have any questions.
