What is a Table Sit?
Companies visit the BEC for informal interactions with students at “table sits.” Typically, this means you will find recruiters sitting at a table just outside the BEC Dining Room on the first floor of the Rotunda. Those professionals are ready to discuss internships and jobs or provide general information about their company and industry.
Even if the visiting company or job falls outside your interest, table sits allow you to practice your elevator pitch and grow your network. Consider asking some informational interview questions when you stop by. See pages 18-19 of the Student Career Guide for ideas.
Student organizations and LSU programs also hold table sits in the BEC. This is a time to learn more about their offerings.
Look for table sit listings in the Ourso Experience and on our Instagram stories!
