Important Graduate Academic Deadlines


Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m.

  • Final date for dropping courses without receiving a grade of "W."



Thursday, Sept. 4 at 4:30 p.m.

  • Final date for adding courses for credit and making section changes. Final date to request a grade exclusion from your college.


Friday, Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m.

  • Final date for submitting an Application for Degree to the Graduate School to be awarded at fall commencement.
  • Final date to submit a Request for Final Defense (comprehensive exam, or thesis/dissertation defense) for degrees to be awarded at fall commencement.


Some programs may follow the Accelerated Sessions calendar. Please consult the Graduate School website for a comprehensive overview of all schedules applicable to graduate programs.

Power-Based Violence Prevention & Response Training Due Soon

Students who are employed as graduate, research, or teaching assistants are required to complete this year's Power-Based Violence Prevention & Response Training by September 30. However, we encourage you to complete it as soon as possible because prevention and preparedness don't wait.

Learn about international business and Taiwanese culture with an educational visit to the island of Taiwan. We’ll visit Taipei (the capital) and Tainan.

Course: GBUS 4991, Topics in International Business (open to undergraduate and graduate students). The course will appear on your Spring 2026 schedule.

If you haven't already done so, activate your Handshake account. This is LSU's online career platform that connects students to job opportunities, career events, and one-on-one appointments. In personalized appointments, our team will help with the issues that matter most to you, including career exploration, résumés, cover letters, interview prep, and internship or job searches.


The team also manages a Slack channel to share job opportunities with business students. All listings will also be posted to Handshake, but please join Slack if you would like to be notified about openings as soon as the professional development team makes them available.

LSU Collegiate Recovery Program

LSU’s Collegiate Recovery Program offers support to students, staff, and faculty affected by addiction. Services include weekly recovery meetings, individual support, and free harm reduction materials available in the Recovery Lounge, 167 Coates Hall.


Recovery Ally and Narcan trainings are available on campus. If you or someone you know is in recovery or impacted by addiction, LSU’s Collegiate Recovery Program is here to help.
