Should I Post That?

Did you know that many recruiters use social media to find and vet candidates? Sixty-seven percent of employers screen job candidates through social networks. Does your profile send the right message?

Tips for keeping your social media recruiter ready:

  • Google yourself. What do others see when they search for your name? You can bet that future employers will be searching your name online.
  • Scrub your social media pages. Look over your social media pages – is there anything you would not want a future employer to see? Photos or posts you’ve been tagged in? Things you have shared?
  • Be mindful of what you share. Ask yourself: What is my goal with posting this? Is this best for a private or public page?
