A Breath Prayer
Use a simple phrase as you breath in and out to center yourself and find space for prayer. Today’s Breath Prayer is simply the first line of Psalm 130. It reminds us that it is enough simply to acknowledge the deep places in our lives and to call to God from them.

Inhale: Out of the depths
Exhale: I cry to you, Lord.
Daily Gospel Reading
John 2:14-15 
14 In the temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 Making a whip of cords, he drove all of them out of the temple, with the sheep and the cattle. He also poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

"Out of the Deep"
Psalm 130 begins from a place of profound desperation: “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.” As the psalm continues, though, the psalmist remembers God’s steadfast love and hope. Both trust and despair live together.

Guiding Questions:
Where do you find yourself in ‘the deep’ these days? The psalmist prays, names their inadequacy, waits, and hopes. How might you engage in some or all of these same disciplines this season?
