For this week, let’s focus on rules related to game preliminaries. Which team must submit their lineup card to the umpire first? Who can “rub up” baseballs? May saliva be used in preparing baseballs? How many warm up pitches does the starting pitcher receive before the game?
SEEKING HOSTS FOR SELECT PROVINCIALS!
We know it’s been a couple of years since we’ve done this, but we’re back to business now and we need hosts for the 2022 Select Provincials!
We are searching for hosts in all divisions 9U-18U, Dedicated Select and House League Select divisions. If your Local Association would like to host a provincial championship, please complete the application form on our website! If you have any questions please reach out to select@baseballontario.com!

YOUTH TEAM TRYOUTS RETURN
AFTER 2 YEAR HIATUS!
After 2 years without a National Tournament, we were thrilled to start the selection process for the 17U Provincial Team that will compete in the Canada Games!
Baseball Ontario held 2 initial tryouts in Kitchener and Oshawa with more than 280 players participating!
Congratulations and good luck to the 40 players who have made it to the final selection camp taking place in Vaughan May 20-22!
BLUE JAYS INSTRUCTIONAL CLINICS
Blue Jays Instructional Clinics are returning to 18 communities across Ontario! These one day, four-hour clinics focus on teaching fundamental baseball skills in a fun and structured environment for players aged 8-12.
SCHOLARSHIP and HALL OF FAME
The R. Jack Middlemass Memorial Scholarship assists aspiring young people in pursuit of post secondary education.

The recipient will be awarded $3,700 CDN, presented at the time of registration at university or college.
The Baseball Ontario Hall of Fame provides the opportunity to recognize individuals and teams that have achieved the highest standards and commitment to the sport of baseball in Ontario.

Nominations are now being accepted for the class of 2022!
ELITE BASEBALL OPPORTUNITY!
Baseball Ontario is pleased to present the return of the Program 15 Showcase, coming May 24th!

This program is designed for high school aged players playing on OBA teams or in recognized programs.
The Program 15 evaluators and instructors have played, coached, and scouted at the highest levels of baseball and have been directly involved in players moving forward collegiately and professionally.
All Program 15 evaluations are performed with the goal of improving the player’s self-awareness and ability to maximize their skills and achieve their goals.
