This Sunday, there are opportunities to worship indoors, outdoors, and online! As always, children are welcome in all services. The outdoor service, however, will be especially family friendly.

Beginning this Sunday, the outdoor worship service at 9:00 will be in the Cobblestone Circle beside the parking garage. Bring your own chairs or blanket to sit on, and come as you are (shorts and flip flops are fine)!

This service will not include communion, so will likely run about 40 minutes long. We are thrilled to have Jessica Nedelisky and John Willim from the Jordan Band providing music.

Reservations are not required for this service. Masks are encouraged but not required in this outdoor setting.

Please note that nursery care is not yet available at this time.

So that families can focus on worshiping together, Love First at Home will not be meeting online during September.

Resources for families to explore faith together will continue to be posted online weekly here.

We are hopeful that in-person Children's Formation (Sunday School) will resume soon. Please stay tuned for details!

Godly Play at Wolfson Children's Hospital

Did you know that Godly Play, our beloved Christian Education curriculum for small children, is an integral part of the Spiritual Care program at Wolfson Children's Hospital?  Because of the dedication of Christ Church parishioners Joan Farrell, Malinda Harris, Nancy Grogan and others, children at the hospital can find spiritual comfort and renewal from this method of sacred storytelling. Nancy Grogan, pictured above, uses Godly Play materials to tell stories at children's bedsides - stories of hope, perseverance, and God's loving care.

Sadly, the pandemic has interrupted bedside storytelling, due to visitor limitations and the risk associated with bringing storytelling materials into multiple rooms. Here's where we can help!

Soon, we'll have an opportunity for Christ Church families to fund and assemble Godly Play storytelling kits which will be given to families at Wolfson to keep. Families who participate will sponsor a kit for less than $20, pick up the materials at Christ Church, assemble a story at home, and return it to the church. Our team will deliver completed kits to Wolfson.

With a take-home kit, children at Wolfson can continue to safely enjoy sacred and beloved Godly Play stories like Creation, The Parable of the Good Shepherd, and the Parable of the Mustard Seed.

More information about how to participate will be shared by email and on Facebook soon.  In the meantime, if your family would like to participate, please join the mailing list for this project by contacting Catherine Montgomery.

I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
