New Library Web Address

The library has used the address kirkwoodpubliclibrary.org for many years. And while we love it, it is quite long to type out over and over and over.

So, we now have a new web address - http://kplmo.org

This shorter address makes accessing our website much easier. You can still find us by going to https://kirkwoodpubliclibrary.org, but you will be automatically redirected to https://kplmo.org.

Be assured that our new web address is safe, but if your browser claims otherwise, contact us at 314-821-5770 option 5 and we can help you.

KPL Has March Madness!

Join us for our own kind of March Madness by playing Tournament of Titles! Which book title will take this year’s KPL crown as best-beloved?

Starting on March 15th, 9am through April 4th, 5pm, vote for your favorite every week and see who wins it all! You may vote for your favorite title every week.

Vote here or in person in the library. Next round begins every Friday until a winner is crowned on April 4th!  Watch the brackets as they fill up! Titles were chosen by being 2024 top circulating titles at KPL.

Die Fledermaus

An Opera Theatre of Saint Louis Production

Join us on Saturday, March 29th at 2pm and forget your troubles and pop some bubbles. Prince Orlofsky is throwing the costume party of the century, and everyone is determined to be there. Dr. Falke invites his friend Eisenstein for a gentleman’s night out on the town. Little do they know that Eisenstein’s wife, Rosalinde, and her maid, Adele, each have their own mischievous plans. What starts as a harmless prank soon escalates into an epic battle of the sexes, filled with disguises, flirtations, and comedic deceptions. No matter how the evening ends, one thing is for sure — you can blame it on the champagne! Get a sneak peak of this exciting opera and learn wonderful insights from an Opera Theatre of Saint Louis Docent.

Check out the KPL Podcast.

New episodes released every Friday.

Books & Beyond

Our craft group formed almost 20 years ago. Their initial project was making purses from Reader’s Digest books. They moved onto jewelry, hand-sewn items, paper crafts, knit and crocheted hats and scarves. Currently there are 10 participants who meet monthly to display current work and to discuss future projects. Be sure to stop by to see what is new on the Craft shelves.

In addition, a new inventory of notepads and cards reflect the joy of the Spring season. Start planning now by admiring many small items that will add interest and no calories to Easter baskets.

All proceeds benefit the library.

Story Walk

Finding a safe, fun and educational activity that your whole family will enjoy may feel like a task. Leave it to the library, we've got the perfect idea!

Head over to Kirkwood Park to take a walk around Walker Lake where you can follow our Story Walk. A librarian has handpicked the book that you follow page by page around the lake until you've enjoyed a whole story and some exercise. Look for this story in March:

My Brother Otto and the Birthday Party by Meg Raby

And be sure to check out our new Story Walk in the front lawn of the Kirkwood YMCA. Look for this story in March:

Monster Hands by Karen Kane & Jonaz McMillan.
