• Lao Family will be hosting a Family Youth Conference, youths 14-18 are invited to attend this free event.
• Lao Family hopes this conference will provide youths from diverse backgrounds with a unique opportunity to engage in workshops, discussions, and activities centered around mental health, self-reflection, and community engagement.
• Focused on the importance of disconnecting from digital pressures and prioritizing personal well-being, Lao Family aims to foster an environment where youth can recharge, reflect, and connect with others in a meaningful way.

Coffee & Care With MISI

In honor of World Refugee Day, MISI Community Solutions hosted a “Coffee & Care with MISI” gathering on June 20th at its Roseville offices. Since 2012, MISI has focused on helping individuals navigate Medi-Cal Management Care health plans and the ever-changing alternatives that come with it.



• Under the theme of “A warm cup. A caring hand. A stronger community.” attendees enjoyed coffee and donuts while enjoying walking around the campus.
• More than a hundred community members had the opportunity to connect with representatives from a handful of refugee-supporting organizations.
• MAS-SSF staff attended and shared information on our numerous mental health programs as well as information on Covered California.

On Tuesday, July 8th, there will be a Capital TAY-keover! The California Youth Empowerment Network (CAYEN), part of Mental Health American of California, will provide youths with the opportunity to engage with government representatives from our California State Legislature.

Youths will also have the opportunity to connect with other youth advocates from across the state and enhance their advocacy and leadership skills. They will gather at the California Endowment offices in downtown Sacramento for the five-hour event.
