Journey to INDIA with Terri, Anand & Heather!

Our Outreach
As we begin our journey of awakening, our challenge is to create a life that is full of meaning and purpose AND knowing that we can each make a difference in the lives of others. In this spirit of service, we invite you to make a difference in the lives of the most impoverished children of Rishikesh, India by gathering donated items from your community and bringing them along with you to share with the children of the Khushi School.
During our time with the children of The Khushi Project, we will connect through art, dance, music, and yoga. We will also spend one day side by side with women of the community shopping, prepping, and preparing a meal for the children.
"All the suffering in the world arises out of wanting happiness for self. All the happiness arises out of wanting happiness for others."
-Shantideva
We graciously request all participants to help us collect educational & medical supplies that we will donate. We also request that each person help us raise a small amount of funds so that we can purchase supplies for our service projects.

"Life is one, so why do we separate the spiritual from the material life? The wisdom you learn should be applied to all of your life, without distinction, so that at every level of your existence you can be a light", Anand.
Anand Mehrotra was born in "The Land of the Yogis" on the banks of the Ganga in the foothills of the Himalayas, in Rishikesh, India on November 1, 1982. During a full moon under the star of Ashwani.
Anand has spent most of his life learning from many of the great sages and yogis in India. Since early childhood Anand showed an intuitive knowledge and grasp of the works of the Masters, and the cosmos. He was destined to be a teacher from an early age, and he started teaching at the age of 16. He was first guided by his parents into the dharmic way of life. He then went on to study under many Masters in the Himalayas, and was initiated into several different yogic paths including Kriya, Shakti Tantra, and Raja Yoga. Anand graduated from Delhi University with a BA in literature and philosophy. He also studied Vedanta at the Vedanta Forest Academy and Vedic Astrology under Srimati Vijaya Puri.
People are moved by his charismatic energy and his powerful message. His talks are filled with insights and wisdom. His teachings are radical in their approach to life.
Anand has committed his life to creating an enlightened existence and spiritual awareness for people throughout the world. Anand lives in Rishikesh and travels all over the world teaching and sharing his experiences. He has established two charitable organizations in India, Kushi Charitable Society the children, and Anahata Charity for the elderly. Heather Packer
Heather's innate desire to help others, her experience traveling throughout India along with her love of the Indian culture and country all guided her along the path of organizing Yoga and Outreach in India with Terri and Anand. As a hairdresser and new yoga teacher, Heather shares her compassionate heart, gentle, healing hands and love of yoga with all those around her. Heather discovered yoga and spirituality 10 years ago on the sands of Miami Beach while struggling through anxiety and an unhealthy lifestyle. Immediately she fell in love as the practice changed her life, and she has continued her consistent, steady practice and study of yoga throughout the last 10 years. She has completed both a 200 hour yoga teacher training certification with YogaWorks in 2010 and a 200 hour yoga teacher training with Conquering Lion Yoga in 2012.

Enjoy three healthy, homemade vegetarian meals each day. Local, organic produce and authentic Indian spices artfully concoct the perfect meal for our mild western palates...
Our service project includes a day of connection and cooking with many of the mothers of the children of Khushi. We will start the day in the markets choosing the merchants' most fresh and vibrant live foods. The women will show us how to slice, dice, mix and create a true and authentic family -style meal that we all sit and enjoy together.
