"Outstanding Catholic School Graduate"
Congratulations to eighth-grade student Cynthia Jacob for being named Transfiguration Academy's Outstanding Catholic School Graduate! She was recognized during a Mass and brunch at the Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Center in Kearny on Saturday, March 23. This award, which is presented by the Archdiocese of Newark's Schools Office, honors an eighth-grade student from each school who exemplifies Catholic values in word and deed and displays superior academic achievement. Msgr. Thomas P. Nydegger, vicar general and moderator of the curia, presided at the Mass. Dr. Margaret Dames, secretary for education and superintendent of schools, presented the award to each student.
"Pocketbook Bingo"
Get ready to win some designer bags! Grab some friends and a bottle of wine and come out for Pocketbook Bingo on Friday, April 12, at Conlon Hall. Tickets are $35 for 12 games. Prizes include bags by Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Tory Birch and more. Additional tickets will be available for purchase, and credit cards are accepted. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for this adult-only event. Proceeds will go toward updating the restrooms in Conlon Hall.

 "Apex Strong"
Students are gearing up for the Apex Fun Run on April 11. Representatives from the Apex Leadership Company are on campus for the next week teaching students about leadership and health and fitness. The event kicked off with a pep rally on Monday, and the Apex athletes will also be playing games with the kids during lunch and recess.
