HomeAid Georgia's mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

A Record-breaking Essentials Drive

HomeAid Georgia's 25th Annual Essentials Drive, presented by Precision Stoneworks, was our biggest and most impactful to date. For the first time ever, teams raised funds that allowed HomeAid Georgia to purchase essentials at wholesale pricing — maximizing every dollar and doubling this year’s distribution efforts. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and 27 dedicated Essentials Teams, HomeAid Georgia distributed more than 509,000 essential items — including diapers, wipes, pull-ups, feminine hygiene products, and adult underwear — to families across Georgia experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

On May 8, our parking lot turned into a large distribution event as volunteers helped load the vehicles of 41 nonprofit organizations serving communities across the state of Georgia just in time for Mother's Day. The Athens Area HBA is still raising funds through June to distribute even more resources for those in need.

Lanona L. Jones, Founder of Inspire Positivity, Inc. expressed, "On behalf of Inspire Positivity, Inc., thank you so much for your generous donation of family and baby products. Your support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout unincorporated and rural Georgia communities who are in need of essential resources and care items. We are truly grateful for your partnership, compassion, and commitment to supporting underserved communities."

Nearly 13,000 people in Georgia experience homelessness on any given night and almost 37% are women and children. The annual Essentials Drive continues to address one of the most urgent and often overlooked needs facing families experiencing housing instability: access to everyday essentials.

Who HomeAid Georgia's Essentials Drive Helps

Ashley entered Motherhood Beyond Bars’ program 18 months ago after being released from incarceration and giving birth to her son the very next day. While rebuilding her life as a new mother, one thing she never had to worry about was diapers. “Thanks to MBB, I have never had to worry once about diapers. My son is always in a fresh diaper,” Ashley shared.

Today, Ashley has secured stable housing, earned her associate’s degree, and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Georgia State University with hopes of becoming a social worker. Thanks to the support of HomeAid Georgia and Essentials Drive supporters, mothers like Ashley can focus on creating brighter futures for themselves and their children.
