Join the Network with Zero Overdose for a three-part training series on overdose and suicide safety planning. Participants who attend all three trainings will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Overdose Safety Plan Training - September 8th, 10:00-11:30am
This training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to create effective overdose safety plans. Participants will learn to define these plans, understand their purpose, and identify risk based on factors like substance use history, mental health, and concurrent medication usage. They will also gain the ability to develop personalized safety plans with patient and support network involvement, set achievable goals, and implement strategies to reduce overdose risks.

Suicide Safety Plan Training - September 16th, 9:30-10:30am
This training teaches participants how to create individualized safety plans for those at risk of suicide. Through practical exercises and case study reviews, participants will learn how to assess risk factors, collaborate with individuals in crisis, and design comprehensive plans that provide practical steps for managing distress. The training focuses on empowering patients to take active roles in their own safety while ensuring participants have the tools to support them in a compassionate, effective manner.

Integrated Safety Plan Training for Suicide, Overdose, and Social Drivers - October 16th, 9:30-11am or October 28th, 9:30-11:00am
This session provides participants with critical skills and confidence to assess and manage risks related to overdose and suicide, as well as address key social drivers of these crises. Participants will learn to recognize both the unique and shared risk factors for overdose and suicide, and how to apply targeted safety planning based on the severity of the risk. The training emphasizes an integrated approach, helping staff to develop safety plans that concurrently address substance use risks, suicide ideation, and social factors (such as housing instability or domestic stress) that can elevate risk levels.
