Community Care Alliance along with community partners are supporting International Overdose Awareness Day with a public gathering on August 31st.

Join us at 1PM, prior to event for a 1 mile awareness walk. Posters can be made prior to start of walk and then come back to 800 for food, community tables and hear from individuals with lived experience. Attendees may take part in decorating a candle to honor their loved one. The event will close with a moment of silence.

Representatives from Community Care Alliance and partnering organizations— Discovery House, Landmark Medical Center, Health Equity Zone, Milagros Project, Codac, and more will be there to outreach the community.

Recovery Peers and individuals working in the field of recovery will address the audience with their stories of hope along with Johnathan Goyer, Director of Rhode Island's Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative.
A Time to Act
Too many people have lost their lives to overdose throughout the world. In Rhode Island, 435 people were lost in 2021.
Overdose is preventable. Knowing the real facts about drugs and what to do when you see someone experiencing an overdose DOES save lives. Overdose Day events that aim to educate our communities about drugs can really help.
