Airport Connector, Warwick

Drainage work will require overnight alternating lane closures on Route 1A at both ends of the Airport Connector. Motorists may also experience minimal traffic impacts for daytime construction on Post Road and the Airport Connector.

Cottrell Bridge, Westerly

Traffic will continue to follow the signed detour while crews plan on completing bridge barrier, approach slabs, install guardrail and pave the roadway.

Hunts Mill Bridge, East Providence

We continue driving piles prior to preparing to install the prefabricated sections of the new bridge. Motorists are following a signed detour.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

Motorists are now following a new traffic pattern on I-95 North with the high-speed lane on the new bridge. Various ramps will be closed within the I-95 South Exit 37 (old Exit 22) interchange for overnight abutment work at the Atwells Avenue Bridge. Follow signed detours. Overnight alternating lane closures on I-95 from Exits 37A (old Exit 21) to Exit 39A (old Exit 24) for median drainage and pavement work are also scheduled.

Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2, Newport

Bridge rehabilitation and demolition will continue along Route 138 and may require temporary lane shifts along Third Street and JT Connell Highway. Paving is expected at the Girard Avenue and Malbone Road intersection as well as along Halsey Street. We will also prep the area along Halsey Street for the upcoming traffic shift along Route 138, anticipated for October 6. Bio-retention work will be conducted along America’s Cup Avenue and Farewell Street, electrical work along the Tradesmen Center, and grading for sidewalks along Admiral Kalbfus Road. Flaggers and police details will be onsite to guide vehicles through the work zones.

Reservoir Avenue Railroad Bridge, Providence

We are currently grading the bridge approaches, and starting Sunday night, weather permitting, we’ll set up a crane to begin installing steel girders on the south side of the bridge before moving to the north side. A detour remains in place around the closed bridge.

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence

Weekday alternating lane closures within the project area on Route 10 South are scheduled. We plan to excavate and install storm drainage, pave and install temporary median barrier along the temporary ramp from Route 6 East to Route 10 South, pave the bridge deck on the Huntington Viaduct along Route 6 West, and demolish the retaining wall at the former Route 6 West on-ramp from Harris Avenue.

Schoolhouse Road Culvert, Warren

With the precast box culvert installation complete, backfilling is currently underway, with native soil being placed to match the existing river bed. In the coming weeks at this project, we will install new drainage structures and retaining walls, then elevate the roadway subgrade. Paving is anticipated to begin early November.

_
Washington Bridge, East Providence/Providence

Overnight alternating one-way traffic on Gano and Valley streets under I-195 for bridge deck demolition and repair and electrical work are planned, as are overnight left lane closures within the project area along both sides of I-195 for median barrier and bridge deck repairs. We also need to close the Warren Avenue/Veterans Memorial Parkway on-ramp to I-195 West on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Follow signed detour.
