FAIRFAX, VA – Beginning on Monday, Oct. 14, and continuing weeknights through Tuesday, Nov. 26, the ramp from Georgetown Pike to southbound I-495 will be closed so crews can conduct sound wall work as part of the 495 NEXT Project. The ramp closure will be in place Mondays through Fridays, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning.

Motorists traveling on Georgetown Pike who wish to access southbound I-495 will be detoured as follows:

• Turn south onto Balls Hill Road from Georgetown Pike.
• Continue on southbound Balls Hill Road to turn left onto eastbound Lewinsville Road.
• At the traffic light, use the two right turn lanes to join southbound Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123).  
• Continue on southbound Route 123, past the Dulles Corridor interchange, to the onramp for southbound I-495. 

Drivers are urged to use caution and expect potential delays if traveling through this area. All work is dependent on weather and other factors, and may be prolonged or rescheduled
