OVERNIGHT CLOSURES ON I-84 BEGIN TONIGHT (MONDAY, JUNE 30)

Construction is progressing on I-84 at the Karcher Interchange and between the Centennial Way and Franklin Road interchanges in Caldwell. There will be a few important traffic impacts to watch out for.

Tonight (Monday, June 30):

  • Eastbound I-84 will close overnight between the Centennial Way and Franklin Road interchanges. This will allow crews to patch and repair potholes.

  • The closure will begin tonight (June 30) at 10:00 p.m. and is expected to re-open tomorrow morning (July 1) at 5:00 a.m.

Tomorrow night (Tuesday, July 1):

  • Sundance Road will be closed overnight while crews install underground pipes.

Other traffic impacts:

  • Nighttime lane closures will occur on I-84 at the Karcher Interchange over the next few months while crews continue bridge construction.

  • Sidewalks on the north side of Karcher Road and Caldwell Boulevard are closed until the new side path is built.

Crews recently placed girders for the Karcher Interchange Bridge! This is a major milestone in the project. Check out the video below for a look at the progress so far.

Plan ahead, slow down, and pay attention!

What's happening in the work zone is interesting and it can be tempting to look while driving by. Do your best to minimize these distractions and stay alert. Check out the project website and our monthly update videos to see what crews are up to!
