I have gone on many overnight motorcycle trips and have so many fond memories of them. It is so much fun to plan, pack and prep for a ride somewhere. Hell, the planning and sorting out how everything will fit on your bike makes for hours of enjoyment.

In the old days, our club members would plan to go on many overnight runs put on by clubs that belonged to SCMA , the Southern California Motorcyclist Association. The trips were all over So Cal and would usually be to a place remote enough so that you would get a nice motorcycle ride going there. Most times we would end up at a campground or park that had some facilities like restrooms and water.

Figuring out how to put your tent, sleeping bags, clothes and various other things on your bike was intriguing and haphazard at best. Even more so for me because I almost always rode two up. It is surprising how much you can take with some ingenuity and a lot of bungee cords.

We often had a backup truck follow the club to the events, but even then, the truck was always full of coolers of beer, guitars and miscellaneous with not a lot of room for member's stuff. And often one of our bikes would break down and have to fit that in the truck too.

We would pitch our tents, get some food then all sit around the campfire while Tommy and I would play guitars and sing all night long. Oh yeah, we drank a lot of beer too!

I still go on overnight motorcycle rides, but I have to admit that even though sleeping on the ground in a tentwas great fun back then now a days I’m a “Marriott’’ camper and enjoy the comfort and amenities of a hotel room.

Definitely do things like this on your bike! The joy of owing a motorcycle is not just in the riding, it’s a lifestyle to be cherished!

2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900 First Look

Upgrades for Triumph’s most popular Modern Classic.

It’s only been a couple of years since Triumph realigned its Modern Classics lineup, transforming the old entry-level Street Twin into the Speed Twin 900 to bring it into line with the larger Speed Twin 1200. In that time, the model has already stamped its mark on the range and become a bestseller. For 2025, the Speed Twin 900 gets a substantial redesign that makes it an even more tempting option thanks to new styling and uprated suspension and technology.

The change is, in part, a response to the launch of the single-cylinder Speed 400. The Speed Twin 900 is no longer the entry-level machine in the Modern Classics line, and the changes for 2025 reflect that. They headline with a restyle that shifts the bike’s look away from the 1960s feel of the Bonneville that shares the same engine. It’s still undeniably retro, but there’s more of a 1970s feel, particularly when finished in the white, orange, and blue color scheme. A reshaped fuel tank, a slimmer rear frame and seat, a new aluminum swingarm, and more angular engine cases contribute to the new look. Up front is a new headlight, and below the seat there are sharper-looking side covers and throttle body shrouds.

Australian GP: Ducati Lenovo Team ready for the seventeenth round of the 2024 MotoGP season at Phillip Island

The Ducati Lenovo Team arrives in Australia to contest the first Grand Prix of the final triple-header for 2024. After the event scheduled at Phillip Island, south of Melbourne, this weekend, the Italian team will fly to Thailand and Malaysia before heading to Valencia from November 15 to 17 for the season's grand finale.

Therefore, an intense and decisive period, where the fate of the World Championship will be decided, will open up this weekend and currently sees reigning World Champion Francesco Bagnaia occupying the second position in the overall standings, 10 points behind the current leader Jorge Martín (Pramac Racing). The rider from Chivasso, just back from a splendid double victory in Japan, as he triumphed in both Saturday's Sprint and Sunday's GP, arrives in Australia motivated, strong from the good sensations he had last time on the track.

Enea Bastianini, currently third in the World Championship, 69 points behind his teammate, also aims to consolidate his position in the standings and continue to be among the protagonists in the race. In the last GP in Japan, the rider from Rimini scored second place in the Sprint and came close to the podium on Sunday by finishing fourth.

The Ducati Lenovo Team will also have its first match point for the Team World title in the seventeenth round of the MotoGP World Championship.

Ducati unveil Scrambler 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition limited to just 500 units

As we expected, Ducati is celebrating a decade of its modern Scrambler with an anniversary edition model with the help of Rizoma. Ducati will produce only 500 units of the Scrambler 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition, each presented in a Stone White and Black livery highlighted with components in Metal Rose.

Metal Rose (don’t call it Rose Gold like Apple does, as there’s no actual gold in there) has been a trendy color in the fashion industry for some time now, and it’s usually used to provide a sense of elegance and sophistication. It seems a bit odd to feature it on a Scrambler, which is typically marketed for its spunkiness, but as Ducati says, “this Ducati Scrambler rejects labels and classifications, like a true work of art that anticipates the trends and lines of the future, becoming an extension of his rider in which style, innovation and individuality move in perfect harmony.”
