CAWS 2025 Spring Seminar

What Sets IB Apart?

Our CAWS 2025 Spring Seminar was a remarkable success. Close to one hundred IB Educators came together to exchange valuable insights and best practices that not only enriched our individual experiences but also strengthened the bonds of our community. The time spent together created a spirit camaraderie leading to growth and deeper connections. This event reminded us of the importance of collaboration and networking within our California IB Community and with our IB colleagues.

A highlight of our day was Laurel Ferreira announcing the winners of our CAWS 2025 Educator Award Winners. Congratulations to:

DP Winner:

Armando Botello - Pinole Valley High School

MYP Winner:

Kathryn (Katie) Cooney - John Glenn Middle School of International Studies

PYP Winner:

Jaime Potts - Granada Hills Charter

I hope you enjoy a few photos of our moments together. Seven incredible IB colleagues who work directly with California schools are featured along with participants and Trevor Bergman, We Help Two, who is partnering with CAWS for our 2025-2026 Community Service Project. You will also find slide decks that Kelsey Day and Chloe Suberville used during their featured sessions.

You are encouraged to mark your calendar now and join us for our 2025 Fall Forum on Monday, October 27. It will be held at the Orange County Department of Education in Costa Mesa and is expected to be another inspiring experience.

Delicious food and shared time between Featured Sessions.

One of CAWS goals is to build strong relationships with IBA to leverage IBO resources throughout California and events such as these meet that goal. Thank you to everyone who helped us again meet this goal!
