Wilkerson Insurance Agency
LeRoy Wilkerson| Owner
Topic: Motivational Moment
LeRoy was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He’s probably one of few that has lived in the DFW area all his life.
He’s married to Teresa Richardson-Wilkerson for fourteen years. They are truly blessed to have two sons Nelson and Malcolm. They also have a 1-year-old grandson Ace.
After years in corporate America, LeRoy knew it was time for a change in 2010. That change was starting his own independent agency, Wilkerson Insurance Agency, specializing in Health Insurance for individuals and small groups.
LeRoy is has served in his community for many years, recently serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Coppell Chamber of Commerce. In February LeRoy was asked to serve on the Board of Management for the YMCA in Coppell.
Serving others is LeRoy’s passion and legacy. His favorite quote is from Dr. Martin Luther King…”Everyone Can Be Great Because Anybody Can Serve”. Today, he continues to give back as he’s past Chair Elect for the Coppell Chamber of Commerce and has served on their board for sevens years. He was recently appointed to the serve on the Board for Manage for Coppell YMCA.
During our recent meeting, LeRoy talked about Motivation. Motivation is important because it allows us to change behavior, develop competencies, be creative, set goals, grow interest, make plans, develop talents and boost energy.
Why is motivation important?
· It increases your efforts.
· It boost your productivity.
· It helps you go against all odds and see the possibilities
· It can influence others the inspiration.
· It build habits
· It makes the process and journey fun
· It also gets you to your goal and dreams.
LeRoy left the group with 2 questions.
1. What is your Motivation?
2. What is your Why?
When you figure out your WHY…bring it every day. That’s what going to keep you driven.
LeRoy had 8 team members attend the meeting. He made a great point that even though he has a team, he leans and learns from them and others outside the team within the organization. We’re all a team. We can’t do this alone and we need each other in our village to grow, flourish and be successful.
