Overwhelmed with Gratefulness

- SO Many Miracles

in Just One Week!

Dear Friends of Build A Miracle, 

Sometimes being part of Build a Miracle can just be overwhelming.

We are always overwhelmed by seeing the blessings of so many lives that are

touched and the beautiful impact that comes when people from different

backgrounds come together to help others.

Every week is amazing with miracles unfolding each day,

but this week was something else.

We wanted to share it with you - our dear friends who love BAM,

and who we thought would enjoy seeing what your friends in Mexico have been up to.

All the pictures below are from JUST ONE WEEK in this community

that that each of you, in one way or another,

have helped to create.

For all of this, we could never thank you enough...

Every single thing that you see happening

below was organized by the BAM team in Mexico.

The blessings they are able to make happen is simply overwhelming.

Thanks to you and your support, they have been EMPOWERED.

We get to see the fruits of their efforts every week and are grateful to get to give you just a glimpse today!

On Sunday, March 19, in the BAM business building, fourteen of BAM's entrepreneurs who have participated in the business training program presented their businesses to BAM "Sharks," a group of sponsors from the US who collectively gave them advice and invested in their businesses.

Most of these entrepreneurs earn $50-$150 a week, which is similar to what they may earn in a factory, but they all have the possibility to earn more with their own businesses!

It was a gift to see their confidence and feel their excitement - and nervousness - as they shared what they have accomplished - and dreamed of what they could do next.

Monday March 20

Rock Harbor church got together and prayed with Jesus and Rosa who feed, educate, and care for 70+ children and their families who live next to the dump, picking through the trash to get money for any items they find that can be recycled.

Then poured a pad for kids who live at the dump to be able to play basketball

The team visited families in desperate need close to the dump to see how BAM could help

Building a home for Rosa's mom - hammering insulation, metal lath, and drywall.

All the kids from the dump were happy to help Jesus and Rosa this way.

Thursday March 23

Saturday March 25

Meeting at the McDonald's parking lot - lots of high school students came down for the day!

Cathedral Catholic High School students painted a house and the auditorium in the Villa Margarita BAM community, and surprised a family with furniture

Then they were off to the Community Center where they celebrated 50 of the BAM children who had earned a trip to the Community Center to play and get prizes by writing and reading books through the BAM reading program.

Besides all of these projects with sponsors and groups happening, the education and leadership teams carried on with all their normal things at the Community Center and with their work in the communities.

We asked them to send pictures of what else they had going on last week and the week before and these are what they sent.

The home reading club was going strong

More tarps were given to families to protect them from the rain

There were meetings of the grandparent programs in several communities - which happen each week

Nutrition classes and a graduation

The leaders and subleaders met many times to plan and prepare

And organized people to clean up the Center to get ready before and after all the different events and build projects

And all the while continuing to find new families, tell them about BAM, and convince them to learn how their lives can be changed forever...

And we couldn't end this without showing you the beauty school graduation which happened a couple weeks ago.

It is one of the greatest gifts to women in the community who have been empowered as the learn these new skills that they can use in their homes or to start their own businesses!

Working with these leaders, we share ideas - and of course provide financial support for what they do, but they are the boots on the ground that make these miracles possible.

They spent hundreds of collective hours every week making up this beautiful thing that is BAM.

Each one of them lived in a shack when we met them, and they have shown that with a little financial help, a roof over their head, educational and leadership opportunities, and people who believe in them, that anything is possible!

That overwhelming feeling that I talked about in the beginning made me feel so passionate about getting this newsletter to you so that you could see how your love and compassion has changed this entire community.

I’m not sure if I was able to get that across how I wanted to, but hopefully you at least have some sort of idea of the difference you’re making.
