We are all works in progress, including yours truly. This is why I sometimes like to share my own personal growth journey to inspire you in yours, by showing you how I practice what I preach, teach what I need to learn and write what I need to read. If you've been following me on Instagram, you know I've been having a bit of a "growth spurt" lately, hence the theme of today's PGG and missive... (Click here for the post about the essay photo)

Earlier this week, I sat down with Rick Young of What's In Your Hand Radio Show, who is now doing streaming shows on GHCR@NYC (with a recording posted on YouTube). Rick came to one of my talks at SIBL a few years ago, and I was scheduled to do his show soon thereafter. However, I got bumped and we finally rescheduled to this past Tuesday, which I am certain turned out infinitely better knowing how much I've grown since - and how interesting that the Universe pretty much made me articulate that growth! As I always say, everything happens in time and on time.

In this in-depth interview (over an hour!), Rick gave me one of the best compliments I could ever receive about my speaking ability - he felt that I cared about the audience, which is why what I said resonated. (You can see him tell me this here, along with my reaction). We cover a wide range of topics - as I had no idea what he would ask - including creativity, communication, healing, success, Michelle Obama and Muhammad Ali. Click here for the full interview and stay tuned for a breakdown of all the topics and clips in upcoming emails.

Want to be on a live Zoom with me and experience one of my talks firsthand? I'll be doing an encore presentation of Self-Care in the Midst of Sea Change on Monday, August 24th at 5:30pmET so be sure to register today. Here is a clip from the same talk I did earlier in the month. (Please note that only those who register will have access to the recording). We had a great group coaching session also this week, so stay tuned for the next one in September.

And remember that since Monday was my 13th Anniversary as a professional coach (see last week's PGG) it's a great time to take advantage of my special annual anniversary offer for a one hour phone session which expires August 31st.

For this week's Instagram post you can see how I helped a client this week, this one about how your healing helps others, or another about how my healing is helping yours. The PGG video of the week reminds you that life is a process and to understand sometimes the process is not always pretty or fun!

Lastly, if you look forward to and benefit from these weekly missives and PGG essays and want to show your gratitude, any donations for my efforts are welcomed and appreciated here: And as always, please feel free to contact me with any comments about anything.

With Gratitude and a Big hug <3

Own It
Originally published February 4, 2014

Those of you who have known or worked with me for a while are aware that I have never been comfortable being the center of attention and am an introvert by nature. But I do have something to say, and have been saying stuff in public now for many years!

As I mention in my seminars, Eleanor Roosevelt, one of my heroes, famously encouraged us to do the thing you fear the most. One of those things for me, besides being “on stage” is being in front of the camera. Another thing I talk about is once you figure out who you are, own it. I’m also always saying that we teach what we need to learn (and write what we need to read), and since I do my best to walk my talk and practice what I preach…

This month [February 2014] I had someone videotape my Who Are You and What Are You Supposed to Be Doing with Your Life? seminar at SIBL. They very kindly put together this little excerpt, so for this week’s PGG I thought I would share it here. What can you do today to own who you are?

Don't have time to watch the whole thing? Here is a part where I talk specifically about owning who I am and what I do (45:05), including my experience of being tall (47:50) :)

If you look forward to and benefit from these weekly essays and want to show your gratitude, any donations for my efforts are welcomed and appreciated here:
