We hope that you are making the most of your summer.  If you are looking for opportunities to learn more about college scholarships and financial aid, we have an event for you. Read about it in this July issue as well as other opportunities to become more engaged in your child's education. Please share this information with other families and let us know what ideas you have for future topics.

Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive 

Nippy Betz of The Scholarship Leadership Institute is a Guest Speaker.  Nippy Betz will be a featured speaker at the UTSA Downtown Campus on Saturday, July 22nd at 2:00 p.m. Topics to be covered during this 3-hour session will include college scholarships and financial aid. The event is free but space is limited. Families are welcome to attend. To register email [email protected]

Summer Lunch Program is in Full Swing at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The University of Texas at San Antonio's Pre-freshman Engineering Program (PREP) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are giving kids 18-and-under access to nutritious meals and a college setting during the summer when school is out. The program is open to any child visiting the campus during the lunch time.
Play Games to Discover Career Interests
Kids.gov is a great resource for families, teachers and kids. If your kids like games, have them take a tour around "career town" and play some games to see what they may want to be when they grow up.  Continue Reading
San Antonio Public Library Mayor's Summer Reading Club & More
Children of all ages are invited to join the Mayor's Summer Reading Club or the Read-to-Me Club. By keeping track of the books they read (or listen to) children can earn a Summer Reading Certificate and can select a free paperback book to keep! The library even has a Lego Club.
