Marcus Miree

Meet Marcus Miree! Marcus joined the P4 team in late 2020 as a Field Supervisor, before quickly being promoted to Lead Supervisor. A 25-year veteran in the security industry, Marcus began his career at age 16 with American Security, and eventually went on to work as a Correctional Officer for the Cook County Sheriff, before serving as a Bellwood police officer. After an injury forced him to end his career in law enforcement, Marcus turned back to the security field and found his way to the P4 Companies. Marcus noticed P4 officers standing guard outside of the Chinese Consulate in Chicago and was impressed by their professionalism. It was that first impression that drew him to apply for what is now, his new career.

COVID-19: Getting Back to
Normal in the Workplace

Over the last year, we've all been subjected to ‘information whiplash’! First, a surprise virus no one knew much about, then lockdowns and restrictions, including an extended stay-at-home order. Businesses and organizations were forced to send staff to work from home - or close altogether. Social distancing. Face coverings. Quarantines. Then followed a summer reprieve, only to have another lockdown over the holidays. As we enter spring, we are now at a point where the number of positive COVID-19 cases are overshadowed by the number of fully vaccinated individuals, which is good news! Presently, more than 38 million Americans are now fully vaccinated, which is approximately 11.5% of the U.S. population. A ranking of each of the states, and what percentage of their citizens have been fully vaccinated can be found here.
So, does this mean we can head back to the office? The answer is - perhaps, but only if we all remain vigilant. Herd immunity requires that 75-80% of the population receive full vaccination. But, even once fully vaccinated, the CDC's updated prevention guidelines still advise that individuals observe safety precautions. Getting back to the workplace will vary by location and geography. And most, if not all employers will likely watch statistics and adjust re-opening plans based on state/federal guidelines. The moral of the story - while positive advances are offering hope as the world begins to re-emerge, there is still progress to be made. So please stay vigilant, safe and healthy.
