Twelve Most Popular Edutopia Stories of 2022

The twelve Edutopia stories that have gotten the most interest this year have been collected in a new post. The list includes such articles as "Seven Attention-Getters to Use Instead of Raising Your Voice" and "How to Get Students to Focus on Learning -- Not Grades."

Ten Most Significant Education Studies of 2022

Edutopia has also collected ten of the most impactful educational studies from the past year, with conclusions such as "highlighting isn't very effective until teachers step in," an argument for caution and common sense in classroom design, and an authoritative study of two high-impact learning strategies.

HyFlex Community of Practice

You are invited to join a new HyFlex Community of Practice. Join us to share your successes and challenges with teaching remote and in-person students at the same time, explore resources that others are using, and learn from your peers across the state. Any instructors or other staff who teach, plan to teach, or want to learn more about HyFlex classes are invited to join us. Meetings will be held the third Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., beginning January 18, 2023. To join, simply click this Zoom link. Please email Rachel Baron (rbaron@tiu11.org) or Bethany Lezanic (blezanic@tiu11.org) if you have any questions.

Webinar: Get Students Connected

Name an online system that does not require sign-on to access and share information. Without an email, students are cut off from resources like health care, banking, and class assignments. Unfortunately, unconnected students still exist. Attend this webinar on December 28, 2:00-3:00 p.m. to learn how easy it is to set up a Gmail account or use another email account to use with Google. The time to get students connected has passed—catch them up! Easy handouts provided. Register online.
