Find a Program Page - There were 2,756 individual visitors to our Find an Adult Education Program page. This page is always popular as people from across Pennsylvania begin their search for adult education with us.

Lesson Bank - There were 1,667 views of our Lesson Bank which features lesson plans that can be used with adult learners.

Approved DL Curriculum Search - This page, featuring the approved distance learning curriculum for supplemental distance learning, received the most clicks of the year when we shared it in the July newsletter.

Two Truths & AI Game
Common Sense Education has created an interactive digital literacy game to help people identify AI-generated content and develop critical media literacy skills. "Two Truths & AI" is a 60-second challenge to look at ten sets of three movie posters and identify which one was created with AI. While made for grades K-12, this game does have settings to challenge even adults, helping them to develop their digital literacy and critical thinking skills. An Educator Guide is also available directly on the game page, just below the game itself, offering implementation tips and ideas for classroom use.

Upcoming Professional Learning for Adult Education and Family Literacy Staff
Staff at PDE-funded adult education and family literacy agencies can view a list of upcoming courses now available for enrollment in the PD Portal. For more information about any of these courses, please visit the PD Portal, open the course catalog, and view the syllabus. If you are interested in enrolling in a course, please consult with your in-house professional development specialist (IHPDS) to determine if the course meets your professional learning goals.

Let's Chat About Early Language and Literacy Webinars
Join the PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and Early Intervention Technical Assistance (EITA) during the winter months for a series of four webinars on language and literacy that are full of research. These webinars will provide resources to share with families and use in classrooms and centers. The one-hour webinars will be offered for free, 1-2 p.m., dates listed below. WIOA Cross-Training Events
Chester County Workforce Development Area had partners from WIOA core programs and other community partners participate in a second face-to-face cross-training event to focus on closing referral gaps and keeping job seekers engaged in services. They concluded the training by “getting their ducks in a row” with large and small action steps.

The South Central Workforce Development Area had a Title I and Title II Summit which included 40 Title I and II staff from eight different counties. The summit focused on improving services to job seekers through more collaborative delivery of education and employment services.

Workforce Wednesdays
These webinars will continue in January every Wednesday, 12:30-1:00 p.m. On January 14, 2026, at 12:00-1:00 p.m., we will have a special presentation from KayLynn Hamilton about the roles and responsibilities of One-Stop Operator (OSO) and how Title II administrators can work collaboratively with local OSOs. Many partners across the Commonwealth are using PA Navigate to find resources to support their clients/customers. If your adult education program is not listed on PA Navigate, adults with educational needs may not be referred to your program. COABE National Conference Registration
The Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE) National Conference is an annual professional development event for the field of adult education, and the 2026 hybrid conference will be held in Indianapolis, IN. Participants can attend in-person, completely virtual, or a mix of both formats. Attendees will have access to 400+ sessions, networking events, and over 100 vendor booths. Virtual sessions will be available for up to six months after the event goes live. Registration is open now and early bird pricing continues through February 17, 2026.
