The early learning field received great news on March 21, 2018! The federal government announced historic investment funds as part of their omnibus spending bill. The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) would increase by $2.37 billion dollars. This increase includes $115 million increase for Early Head Start and for the first time ever, $5 million to support grants for infant and early childhood mental health!

Deputy Secretary for our PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning, Suzann Morris affirms her support for the bill by saying, “Thank you for raising your voices to Congress and making children a priority!”

Look for an analysis on this historic increase and how it may affect Pennsylvania in later editions of the Pennsylvania Early Ed News.

Congratulations on receiving continued support for the important work being done for families and children!
