PA March for Life: September 21

We might not want to think about it, but summer is winding down. The September 21 Pennsylvania March for Life and our Fifth Annual PA March Bus Trip are only four weeks and three days away.

We just mailed the bus company a nice, big check for over $4,000. So, transportation will not be an issue. Filling 56 seats is the next challenge.

If you can get away for just a day, People for Life would love to have you join us. We are asking only $55 per seat. (But if finances are a problem, additional help will be available.)

The feedback from past participants has been especially positive and enthusiastic. (It's time we start collecting testimonials, but for now, please take our word for it.)

It's an ambitious day, especially if you are not a morning person. We will leave Erie at 5 a.m. But we will be back in town by 8 p.m. For veterans of the Washington, DC March for Life, this Bus Trip will seem like child's play--just a walk in the park.

Footnote. The $55 registration fee will not cover the full cost of our bus charter, and we anticipate some further need to provide even bigger discounts to some who need it, college students for instance. Donations to support the Bus Trip will be gratefully accepted. Non-tax-deductible donations to People for Life, Inc. will be most helpful.

It is no secret that we will be at the state capitol to speak out and lobby for justice, for legislation and other public policies that protect and defend unborn children, and the right to life. We will be there to oppose the forces of death that are working tirelessly on behalf of abortion, assisted suicide, and euthanasia in Pennsylvania. This is the specialty of People for Life, Inc. our 501c(4) corporation. Our tax-deductible People for Life Education Fund is reserved for non-legislative initiatives.

Harrisburg needs to hear from you now more than ever.

Pennsylvania is in very real danger of becoming another Massachusetts, where pro-abortion forces cheered and celebrated as the governor signed a bill that establishes unmitigated abortion-on-demand through all nine months of pregnancy.

The PA House of Representatives passed a similar measure, HB1957, last December, with the help of local representatives, Bizzarro, Harkins, and Merski. The bill, technically called a joint resolution, is now bottled up in the state Senate, thanks to a slim Republican majority. In any case, the abortion caucus will not be giving up anytime soon.

The bill would have resembled the Massachusetts legislation even more closely had not a fig leaf clause been tacked on at the last minute, reportedly to provide a little political cover for a couple of the more timid pro-abortion House members.

The fig leaf notwithstanding, HB1957 is an abortion-up-to birth bill. The fig leaf language changes nothing in practical terms. It tries to give the impression that post-viability abortions will not be permitted except when there are serious "health" problems. That is a carefully-crafted deception.
