Dear Summit Families,

It is with great pleasure that I write to you as I enter my second year as PA President for the 2019-20 school year. Once again, I look forward to a great year ahead and am very happy to extend my services to both the Upper School and Lower School.

One of our first priorities for the school year ahead is to reach 100% participation among our parents. Only with everyone's involvement can we continue to keep Summit a great school and also provide the social and learning opportunities that supplement our children's academic experiences. To do this, we offer a flexible membership dues structure. While $80 is still our recommended dues level, in response to parent feedback, we have three other options to help us do more and to encourage all parents to become PA members. Your participation at any level is vital to our school and our community.

This past school year, your PA dues helped sponsor and coordinate an anti-bullying presentation for both the upper and lower schools, the BioBus for the Lower School, the College & Transition Fair at the Upper School, staff development training, and many social events throughout the year. We extend our thanks to the parent event coordinators who tirelessly provided their time and talents. We are thrilled by the exceptional turnout of parents and students, and we hope the upcoming school year continues to bring more of the same while adding new opportunities for everyone.

Currently being planned for the early part of the 2019-20 school year is our annual Upper School trip to Woodloch Pines and social activities for students at the Lower School. We are working to bring back class reps at the Lower School. And we hope you can attend our parent social that brings current and new parents together for a wonderful evening of drinks, food, and great conversation!

Your involvement in Summit's Parents' Association makes all the difference. Please join us by paying membership dues, volunteering, and attending events so we can continue to bring great experiences to the Summit Community!

We are looking forward to a great year!
