FAMILY HOEDOWN-THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone that participated in Friday's Hoedown! It was a night filled with dancing, food and fun with friends! A BIG thank you to Lauren Bernhard, Lisa D'Ambrosio, Frank Vivolo, Rosa Alaimo-Quinn and all of our wonderful volunteers for making our first hoedown a success! Stay tuned for info on the next Family-Fun event!

OCTOBER PARENT AMBASSADORS

We are looking for parent volunteers to be ambassadors for October.  We have ammended the sign up to allow volunteers to sign up for one (or multiple days), whatever works best for you.  To refresh, this program involves parents as another set of eyes to monitor happenings on the street during drop-off and pick-up.  Please use the link below to sign up.  Thank you!

Please mark your calendar for the first PA meeting of the year! The meeting will be held in the school auditorium this Tuesday, October 4th. Doors will open at 6:30pm with the meeting starting at 7pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! This is a great opportunity to hear about what's going on at SSHS, learn about future volunteer opportunities, ask questions and meet other SSHS parents.  Principal Genova-Hall will also be in attendance to answer questions. Wine and cheese wil be served. We hope to see you there!

USED CLOTHING/BABY ITEMS COLLECTION

The Little Sisters of the Assumption need our help!  LSA Family Health Service in East Harlem urgently needs gently used clothing (men’s, women’s & children’s), strollers and diaper bags. The PA will be collecting your donations at drop-off on October 17 and 18th. Now that Fall is here and you’re cleaning out your closets, please consider a donation to LSA Family Health Service. Please contact [email protected] with any questions. 

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE FUN RUN

Ronald McDonald House New York Kids Fun Run will be held on Saturday, October 29^th in Central Park.  Click here to sign up or make a donation. The attached flyer includes additional details. Ronald McDonald House New York provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems. 100% of all donations go directly to Ronald McDonald House New York. There is still time to register to celebrate St. Stephen of Hungary School and 10 years of the SSHS Foundation Golf Outing on Tuesday, October 18th at Pelham Bay/Split Rock Golf Course. 

BBQ Lunch, 18 holes of golf and a cocktail party on the patio - come spend the day or part of it with fellow parents, grandparents and friends! 

Mark your calendars for the SSHS PA Halloween Carnival! Prepare yourself for a Carnival like the days of old...haunted house, games, pumpkin carving contest, treats and MANY volunteer opportunies! Get excited!
