MARCH 2018 NEWSLETTER
A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members,

It is a privilege to serve as your 2018 PACC President. I am so excited for the coming year and look forward to new ventures and events with our business community. As part of our commitment to best serve our members, the Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to bring you this monthly newsletter, We hope you look it over, like what you see, and submit information for us to share on your behalf.

I'd like to share a list of our 2017 accomplilshments:
  1. Launched new website
  2. Revised By-Laws (after 15 years)
  3. Hosted monthly networking breakfasts - BHBG
  4. Hosted "Off the Clock" evening networking events
  5. PACC sponsored networking workshop with nationally recognized networking speaker, Susan Bierly
  6. Fox News appearance for Town of Poolesville's 150th Anniversary celebration
  7. PACC Board voted to sponsor a Public Art Panel to be painted spring of 2018 on the side of Bassett's Restaurant

PACC proudly sponsored the following events:
  1. SpringFest
  2. PHS Scholarships
  3. 4th of July fireworks
  4. Poolesville Day 5K Run/Walk with the support of the Lions Club, which raised funds for the Lions Club, Poolesville Green, and WUMCO
  5. Second annual Poolesville Day Board Members Float (Many thanks to Alex Markoff and Calleva)
  6. Oktoberfest
  7. First Friday Holiday Lighting - including Free Polar Express rides, and Gingerbread Cookie Decorating

It is with a heavy heart that I share that Eleanor Bateman has stepped down from the PACC Board after 4 years of service, the last 2 years as Vice President. During Eleanor's 4 years on the Board she:
  1. Proposed and coordinated a new web-page and membership software
  2. Implemented the "no cost" to members Annual Meeting
  3. Proposed and designed new membership plaques
  4. Proposed a PACC float for Poolesville Day
  5. Proposed and coordinated the Name Tag program.
  6. Proposed a photo contest for the cover of the Business & Community Directory
  7. and finally, Ellie chaired the Directory Committee for the last two issues with a major update in 2016 breaking all advertising records and reducing the costs of production.

It is with heartfelt appreciation that we THANK Eleanor for her service to our Board and know her continued involvement with PACC will continue to enhance our community!

Many Blessings,
Gail
