Polish American Chamber Selected to Provide Outreach and General Assistance as Part of Chicago’s COVID-19 Small Business Support (CSBS) Program

CHICAGO (11/22/21) ---The Polish American Chamber of Commerce (PACC) announced recently that their proposal to partner with the City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) in support of Chicago’s small businesses in their recovery from the negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic has been selected to be awarded.

Partnering with the City in the COVID-19 Small Business Support (CSBS) Program category of Outreach and General Business Assistance, the PACC will offer entrepreneurs and business owners in the Polish American community and beyond targeted expert training, information, and resources to help address challenges brought on by the pandemic. Planned activities designed to inform businesses of available financial aid and other services will include in-person outreach, coaching, and advising.

Specific initiatives to help ensure that members of the Polish business community have access to the guidance and support they need to recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic will also include (1) Open 'Incubation' Hours, (2) Microgrants, and (3) an educational video series.

“We have partnered with the City for quite a few years now as one of its Neighborhood Business Development Centers, acting as a one-stop shop with regard to business assistance and as a vital connection to City Hall’s Small Business Center,” said PACC Executive Director Bogdan Pukszta. “We are very pleased now that with the award of the CSBS Program grant, we will be able to help level the playing field for the City’s Polish immigrant entrepreneurs and others by providing information and services to help them recover from the pandemic.”

In addition to long-term staff, the PACC’s CSBS Program team includes Monica Lebensztejn, who has been hired as a Business Community Outreach Specialist. Those interested in receiving more information or in accessing guidance and business support offered as part of PACC’s CSBS Program are encouraged to contact Monica and/or other PACC staff members at 773-205-1998 or [email protected].
