Local UNLV Workforce Leader Provides Keynote Presentation to PACE Members at VISION 2022

The PACE Division is proud to announce Irene Bustamante Adams as the keynote speaker for the PACE Division Opening Session and Business Meeting at Vision 2022.

Irene will be delivering the topic of Untapped Resource to Success to our division. This topic will include looking at Your Local Workforce Boards: Learn what Southern Nevada is doing to win national awards by connecting education, workforce, and economic development

Irene Bustamante Adams serves as the Deputy Director & Chief Strategy Officer for Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board. She is a dynamic and transformational leader christened with many recognitions like the “National Trailblazer” by Emerge America and “Women Inspiring Nevada” by Vegas Inc.

Prior to joining Workforce Connections in 2017, Bustamante Adams spent 18 years at MGM Resorts International, working her way up from clerk to a corporate position. From 2010 to 2018, she also represented District 42 in the Nevada Assembly, serving as Speaker Pro Tempore in her last leadership role.

Bustamante Adams was raised in the farming community of Kerman, California and woke before dawn to work the agricultural fields alongside her siblings. She was the first in her family to attend and graduate college, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from California State University, Fresno. In 2007, Bustamante Adams became the first Latina in Nevada history to earn an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from UNLV.

Bustamante Adams currently serves on the boards and councils of the United Way of Southern Nevada, RTC’s Transportation and Resource Advisory Committee and Clark County School District’s Blue Ribbon Task Force.

She is married to Army Sergeant Brad Adams, and has two daughters, Olivia, and Alaina. She also is a new grandmother to her first grandchild.

We are very excited and appreciate having Ms. Adams share her journey through workforce development with the PACE division at our opening session.

Kevin Fleming, Friend of PACE

As many of you are aware, Dr. Kevin Fleming provided the keynote presentation for our division during

VISION 2021. Dr. Fleming is a member of the PACE division as well as a contributing member to our PSAG2 Committee. I have asked him to provide us with a few updates on his current work and activities.

He generously wanted to provide our division with the following articles/blogs and videos that you can visit and share with colleagues.

Dr. Fleming has announced that he will be leaving Norco College after 12 years and transitioning to Los Angeles Regional Consortium to support CTE at 19 regional community colleges. We wish him the best of luck with his new role and thank him for your significant contributions to PACE and to CTE across our nation.
