Every day is a great day to be involved in Postsecondary Adult & Career Education (PACE)! I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the members who attended the third annual Postsecondary CTE Summit in Chicago, Illinois, I look forward to seeing you at ACTE's CareerTech VISION in December. It will be a wonderful event loaded with professional development opportunities, personal growth and many events to meet fellow PACE members and build your network.

Postsecondary CTE Summit Recap


The third annual Postsecondary CTE Summit took place from Sept. 18−20 in Chicago, Illinois, attracting nearly 300 attendees along with 23 sponsors and exhibitors. The event featured two engaging pre-conference workshops focused on establishing a new teacher institute and leveraging data to assess effectiveness, guide expansion, and promote equity. A data tour was also part of the agenda.

Kenyatta Lovett, Ph.D delivered an inspiring opening keynote. Attendees participated in private sessions, roundtables, and poster presentations, alongside four main panel discussions:

  • Better Together: Building a Strong Pipeline from Adult Education to Postsecondary CTE
  • Scaling Career-Connected Learning for Chicago Youth: The Chicago Roadmap
  • Exploring Connections between Equity, Teaching, and Student Success in CTE
  • New Word, New Work: Ensuring Postsecondary CTE Programs Support Everyone in an AI-Driven Economy

Notable speakers included national experts and local leaders, such as Juan Salgado, Chancellor of the City Colleges, and Pedro Martinez, Executive Director of Chicago Public Schools.

ACTE's CareerTech VISION happens this Dec. 4−7 in San Antonio, Texas. ACTE staff have been working hard to make sure that VISION is an educational and wonderful experience. Please join us for four outstanding days of learning and living CTE.

If you are a new member to ACTE/PACE please make plans to attend the First-time Attendee Orientation and Breakfast on Dec. 5, 7:00-8:00 a.m. You will have the opportunity to learn more about PACE and ACTE.

WBL 2025 Call for Presentations


Share your work-based learning expertise and model programs at ACTE’s Work-based Learning Conference 2025, happening April 2–4 at the Hyatt Bellevue on Seattle’s eastside in Bellevue, Washington. This event is focused on supporting the delivery of quality experiences that foster in-depth, firsthand engagement with the skills required in a given career field. The deadline to submit a proposal is Oct 14

Student Video Challenge: What is Artemis?


ACTE and NASA HUNCH are excited to host the 2024–25 student video challenge. This year’s theme: “What is Artemis?” This annual video contest offers students the opportunity to showcase the application of CTE and project-based learning programs in high-demand career fields on Earth and in space. The contest is open to students of all ages, including elementary, middle school, high school and postsecondary students and any student who is homeschooled. Submit a two-minute video by April 1.

Apply Now! Postsecondary CTE Leadership Program Opportunity


Tailored for postsecondary CTE professionals, the NextLevel Postsecondary CTE Leadership Program at ACTE, sponsored by the ECMC Foundation, is a nationally recognized program, providing career growth opportunities that are engaging, individualized and memorable. Now a registration-based initiative, registration fees for accepted applicants will be $3,000 (not including lodging or travel for in-person events). The deadline to apply for this premier program is Jan. 17
