Introducing Equity Priority Buildings

PACE has added increased incentives for a new category of buildings called Equity Priority Buildings. This category aims to increase access to energy and electrification upgrades for businesses serving frontline community members.

Your building may qualify as an Equity Priority Building if it houses one or more businesses that serve frontline community members: people that are more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change due to factors including income, race, language, age, documentation status, disability, and more. Learn more about Equity Priority Buildings here.

New Rebates

New rebates introduced for 2024 include:

• Electrification Infrastructure Upgrades for businesses that need increased electrical capacity for switching from gas to electric equipment
• New Heat Pump Varieties including Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and both All-Electric and Dual-Fuel Rooftop Units
• Electric Water Heaters replacing gas equipment

Increased Incentives

Many categories of rebates have increased incentives for 2024, with even higher increases for Equity Priority Buildings. Some highlights include:

• Heat Pumps
• Water Heaters
• Heat Recovery Ventilators
• Landscaping Equipment

2024 Rebate Caps

The following limits apply to 2024 rebates and incentives:

• $50,000 total per parcel
• $100,000 total per applicant

The Building Electrification Study (Energy Plan) does not count towards these limits. PACE reserves the right to waive or adjust limits on a case-by-case basis.
