A Zoom calendar invitation with the meeting link and code will be sent via email.

Join PACFA staff for a virtual stakeholder meeting to get feedback on potential rule changes for 2025. We encourage stakeholder participation and feedback in the rulemaking process.

The following stakeholders are encouraged to participate:

PACFA licensed facilities
Animal welfare advocacy groups
Consumers and the public

Requests to update, change, or adopt new rules come from various sources including:

Our inspection and legal teams
PACFA licensed facilities
Animal welfare advocacy groups
Consumers and the public

Updating rules and regulations helps:

Provide more clarity
Address emerging animal health, safety, and welfare issues
Implement enacted legislation

Proposed rulemaking topics for 2025 include:

Enclosure requirements and thresholds for certain herptiles
Exemptions from sterilization requirements for cats and dogs in shelters and rescues
Vaccination requirements for dogs, cats, and ferrets imported into PACFA-licensed facilities
Adding definitions and rules around foster homes and foster providers
