Zaching Running Festival at Turf Valley
presented by Nightmare Graphics.
Here is some important information you will need before race day.
PACKET PICK -UP STARTS TODAY!
You have three options.
1) Visit Petite Cellars in the Turf Valley Towne Square at 11079 Resort Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042 on Thursday, 11/21 from 4:00– 7:00 pm
2) Visit Petite Cellars Friday 11/22 from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
3) The race start area on Saturday morning at Petite Cellars starting at 7:00 am.
We encourage you to pick up your packet on Thursday or Friday but if you must do it on Saturday, please plan to do so early. You may have someone else pick up your bib but cannot request a size change on premiums.
RACE DAY PARKING INFORMATION
Please plan to carpool if you can!
A SHUTTLE will be running from Turf Valley Resort Golf Club starting at 7:15 am.
Parking is LIMITED at the Turf Valley Towne Square with some spots reserved for patrons of the shopping center. This is first come first serve! We are asking all of our participants to display a parking pass race morning. Parking passes will be available at packet pickup. Overflow parking will be at the Turf Valley Resort Golf Club. We will make sure the shuttle is ready to get you back to your car as soon as the race is done if you need to leave quickly.

Hill of Honor – We will have supplies available during packet pickup for runners to make personalized signs to honor someone affected by cancer. We will place the signs along Turf Valley Club Road as motivation while you enjoy running up THE HILL.
Race Start – The 10K will begin at 8:30 am, the 5K at 8:35, and the 1 Miler will start immediately after those runners clear the finish line arch area. All runs begin in the parking lot area between Towne Square Parkway and the shopping center. There are different start lines for the 10K, 5K, and 1M. The 10K and 5K will have timing sensors at the start and finish--your official race time starts when you cross the start line! (5K or 10K FLAGS-- NOT THE FINISH LINE ARCH). A map of the start area is available at packet pickup. There will be port-a-potties at the start/finish area. Please be advised we will have a designated bag drop area where you can place a bag should you want to have clothes to change for the post-race party.
Run Course Information – There are two very critical points on the course. Since our 5K and 10K runners will be on the course at the same time, you must be aware of these two critical points. We will have signs and volunteers but please take note. All of the 5K & 10K runners will be entering the Turf Valley Golf Course at Hole #1 on the cart path. The 5K course will turn right at the end of the first hole while the 10K will continue to bear left to Hole #2. The 10K runners will run almost the entire 18-hole course on the cart path (minus holes 5 & 6) before returning to the finish line. The 5K runners will turn after Hole #1 and then continue with holes 7-9 before heading back to the start/finish.
The second critical point is after Hole #9 (water station) – the 5K runners will turn right on Turf Valley Club Road to return to the finish while the 10K runners cross over Turf Valley Club Road to run Holes 10-18. There will be one water stop after Hole #9 that the 5K runners will pass once and the 10K runners will pass twice.

The 1-mile course will begin at the finish arch, runners will turn right on Resort Road, right on Mt. Villa Pkwy to the turnaround point, and then return on the same route to the finish. 1 Mile participants will not receive a bib or be timed and we ask that if you plan to walk, please return to the sidewalk and take note of the 5K and 10K runners.
Race Distance Change –
NO RACE DAY CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED.
Finish Area Celebration – Finish the run and plan to spend some time eating and drinking in our premier Maryland craft beer garden while listening to music provided by the DIXON AND THE PATMAN BAND in the HEATED tent!
Beer & Bloody Marys – Please bring your ID to the finish area. Our registered runners 21+ years of age will receive a cup for complimentary beverages.
SPECTATORS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN YOU AT THE AFTER PARTY BUT PLEASE NOTE FOOD AND BEVERAGES ARE FOR REGISTERED RUNNERS AND VOLUNTEERS. SPECTATORS THAT WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE FINISH LINE
AND ENJOY THE FOOD, BLOODY MARYS, AND BEER ARE ENCOURAGED TO DONATE $30 TO THE ZACHING AGAINST CANCER FOUNDATION HERE.
