PA Chamber Update

PA Chamber Column - July 2025

At the Pennsylvania Press Club luncheon on June 23, PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein delivered a speech with a clear message: for Pennsylvania to continue to grow and prosper, we need to become more competitive. Competitiveness is not just a buzzword. It’s a call to action rooted in the Keystone Initiative, the PA Chamber Foundation’s long-term economic blueprint. The Keystone Initiative outlines a bold vision rooted in data and best practices from other states for reversing Pennsylvania’s downward trends in population, congressional representation, and business investment. We know that if we want to stop losing out to other states—and instead become a magnet for investment, talent, and opportunity—we must act decisively. Click here to read the full article.

Is your chamber still relevant?

Let’s be honest. Chamber work is harder than ever. The mixers, the emails, the hustle... and still, members are wondering: What’s the chamber really doing for me? That’s where advocacy comes in. But most chamber leaders weren’t hired to do policy work and don't come in with that skillset. The good news? You don’t have to figure it out alone. We’ve built a step-by-step framework to help chambers launch and lead effective advocacy efforts with confidence. Because when you’re shaping policy instead of just planning events, your community notices. Your chamber can be more than relevant. It can be irreplaceable. Click here to schedule a brief call and we can discuss your chamber's needs.

No child care teachers, no work: PA must invest to stop economic bleeding

Pennsylvania’s child care teachers are the workforce behind the workforce. When they are in the classroom, parents can go to work with confidence, knowing that their children are safe and learning. However, child care teachers are leaving the profession making it difficult for parents to find the care that gets them to work every day. This historic teacher shortage is depleting child care providers of qualified staff, forcing them to enroll fewer children or even close their doors. Click here for the full article.
