PACP MEMBER UPDATES
Blair County Chamber
The Chamber has designated November as "Small Business Month."  More than 85% of the Chamber's membership is comprised of small businesses.  So it makes perfect sense that the Chamber would designate an entire month to paying tribute to these businesses, especially at a time when a pandemic has made them most vulnerable. The Chamber is planning a variety of programs during the month calling attention to the important role that small businesses play in the Blair County economy.  Included in the celebration are four gift-basket giveaways with items generously donated by Chamber members. To participate you need to take a selfie at a Chamber member small business. All selfies will be posted on social media and are eligible for a weekly drawing. Throughout the month, videos taken at random Chamber member small businesses will be posted to the Chamber's Facebook page, as well.

The Chamber recently presented their annual awards luncheon virtually. As a smaller chamber of less than 200 members, the video, which is available here, is a good example of a simple-but-engaging virtual event. It was entirely pre-recorded, though that wasn't made obvious during the event, and used the skills of a recent college graduate for video production rather than a more costly production company. The event was very well-received and other chambers planning virtual events may want to glean some good ideas.

Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber PAACC
For decades the Chamber has hosted their Annual Golf Outing, and for decades the event has been incredibly successful, not to mention incredibly fun! On October 9th, 2021 we hosted the outing not knowing if this first face-to-face event under the COVID-19 pandemic umbrella would even be held. Well it was held, was sold out, and we exceeded our budgeted revenue goal. But there was something magical about this one. The October weather was a crisp 73 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and at 8:30 AM the shot gun start was right on time with 135 golfers heading out on to the course. Less than 1 hour in, we heard a few yells and screams from the par 3 hole #8. For the first time in the 46 year history of this classic, a hole in one happened, and we gave away a car! The golf gods were looking down on our Chamber that day, and one of our members drove off with a brand new car never to be forgotten as one of our Chamber's true highlights for 2020!

TriCounty Area Chamber
The Chamber has several exciting fall developments.  We launched season 4 of our podcast Chamber Chat in September. We now broadcast Chamber Chat recordings live on Facebook and house the recordings on our YouTube Channel.  On October 1, we held a drive-in movie night, free for our members and their employees.  We showed Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and gave away golden tickets in random goodie bags.  Next month, for the first time, we are hosting a re-broadcast of Leadercast Women: Ripple Effect.

West Shore Chamber
PACP would like to welcome George Book, Jr., President & CEO, and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce as our newest PACP Chamber Member.
